Liverpool Boat Show 2011

Mon 28 Jun 09:14:14 2010

The River Mersey and Liverpool Docks area is steeped in history with the first written records going back to 1004 when it seems The Mersey obtained its name in complement to the ancient kingdom of Mercia for which it created a boundary.

Over the hundreds of years to follow and through the development of the docks area, Liverpool became synonymous as one of the world’s leading ports.

With all this seafaring history, a new city skyline and a community offering the warmest welcome, it seems fitting for Liverpool to host its first Boat Show in 2011.

The Boat Show will see exhibitors from around the world bring some of the most prestigious boats and yachts as well as other sailing paraphernalia to the docks area.  It is expected that up to 400,000 people will visit the show to experience the exclusive floating VIP exhibition space as well as to take part in some of the great water based activities which will be available throughout the show.

Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, former patron of the city of Liverpool’s year of the Sea says he is delighted that Liverpool and by extension – the whole of the North of England is to get a Boat Show that it deserves.

The Hard Days Night Hotel, one of Liverpool’s leading hotels looks forward to welcoming and offering accommodation to visitors and exhibitors to the Liverpool Boat Show 2011.

Show Dates – 29th April – 8th May 2011
